Road Work in Town May 6th-23rd
WA Transportation Improvement Board awarded the Town a grant for nearly $250k to crack seal streets and seal Town-owned gravel roads. The project will run from May 7-23, 2025. We are extremely grateful for this funding and are excited to see the improvements to our streets.
The contractor will start May 7 by filling pavement cracks on Second Street, Third Street, Emery Avenue and Rainier Avenue. There will be one way traffic on those streets May 7-8.
On gravel streets including Franklin Street, First Street, Cascade Avenue, Third Street, Carriage Road and Second Street, the contractor will grade the existing roadway then place and compact the crushed rock. This work will take place May 12-16. After the streets are prepared, the contractor will pave each of the gravel streets and then place crushed rock next to the pavement edge to eliminate the drop off. This work is scheduled for May 19-23.
During the project timeframe, there will be one open lane for traffic with short closures. You may be stopped briefly but traffic flow interruptions will be minimal. Please be patient. It will be worth the minor inconvenience once the work is completed.
